Re: GameSave Manager v4

Yes, the v4.x branch is still under development.
It's a little stalled right now due to my hatred of--and lack of ability to--create UI designs.

Every now and then, I do post screenshots in the Discord server's #lounge channel.

Re: is v4 more stable than v3 at this current time

Generally speaking, the v4.x branch should backup and restore your data just fine. It hasn't had many issues reported, though I'd assume that is due to a very small user pool for it (most preferring the v3.x branch). There's many unfinished features in the v4.x branch (such as Scheduled Tasks as pre...

Re: Some games it takes forever to process on launch, why?

Large file counts and large files (files that are hundreds of megabytes in size) are the common causes of such hangs. The UI will hang due to the scanning being done within the UI's "thread". Theoretically, the scan will complete given enough time. Theoretically ! You can configure GameSave Manager ...

Re: Not responding

You can configure GameSave Manager to skip scanning for World of Warcraft by using the following commandline:

Code: Select all

gs_mngr_3.exe "/ignore World of Warcraft"
Your issue is likely caused by either a large file count or large files (files hundreds of megabytes in size).

Re: Problems detecting some "supported" games

You could have a version of the game which is using a different save location.
Common examples of this are store-specific locations (for example, Steam releases may opt to use Steam Cloud while the GoG release of the same game may opt to use an AppData\Roaming location).

Re: approve user submissions

Typically, I try to release a update once a week if enough (20 or so) records are added / updated.
If not, I let them build up a little.

Admittedly, I got a little behind with them this time (by around a month).
Rest assured, a database update was made moments ago.
