Have they changed this path recently?
I own this game through GoG too and it is--at least was--detecting the saves just fine.

Regardless, I've added an alternative path.

It sounds like you've not backed up the actual save data. There's several games out there that needlessly change their save location based on the region or platform release. The Assassin's Creed franchise is a perfect example of this; each regional release typically use a slightly different save loc...

This is a known issue, which hasn't been addressed due to GSM not using the API for the service.
The workaround is to use the "Set a default Backup Directory" option from Program Settings -> Task Specific -> Backup Settings.

I'm not sure what we can do on our side, it sounds like Minecraft for Windows 10 is symbolic-link aware.
