GOG Galaxy Game installation path and coresponding savegames

Place to manually submit your Custom Gamesave Entries for Official Entry status.
Alternatively, submit them within GameSave Manager directly (just tick the "Yes, I'd like to share this entry" option at the end of the wizard).

GOG Galaxy Game installation path and coresponding savegames

Post by gangstergazelle »

Hello,

I have found that GSM does not detect certain Games that are officially listed in the Database. These Games are downloaded and installed with the GOG Galaxy Client. (For example Industry Giant 2, Settlers 2 Gold, Settlers 3, Settlers 4)

All these games have in common that their savefiles are located within the game installation folder, in a "save"-folder.
Other GOG Galaxy Games, that store the savegame elsewhere (for example in "My documents") are detected.

I assume this might be because the Galaxy Client changed the way it registers games the windows registry.
For example Settlers 2 GOLD is now registered under

Code: Select all

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1207658786
Any ideas how to solve the problem without creating custom gamesave entrys?

Thx for your support. :)

As you mentioned, GOG Galaxy changed the GOG installer registry key structures.
I'm afraid there is currently no automated way to adjust existing entries; they have to be done manually via Custom Gamesave Entries and/or Database Updates.
