Re: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom

I'm afraid I'll need a way to dynamically detect the installation path for the game. Typically, the game's installer will leave a reference within a registry key of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive. Here's some theoretical examples: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion...

Re: Rescan everything after a custom entry is edited - really necessary?

This behaviour was implemented back when the project had around 1,000 records to search for. Now it has over 6,000 it's certainly an issue.
If I recall correctly, you can just close GameSave Manager and restart it to bypass a full rescan.

It's not a perfect workaround, I must admit.

Re: Dynamic Steam Cloud path not detected

Just to confirm, you're using the %STEAM_CLOUD% variable and appending 690830 to it and it is not being detected?
Are you entering the correct file mask(s)? Is 'Rescurse sub directories' enabled?

Re: Restoring from cloud backups

Apologies for the late response. It wasn't long before my PC died that I actually made my backups, so that was a bit of luck! I have downloaded my google drive archives, but I am unsure how to get GSM to recognise them, and where necessary, restore them. Your backups are stored as .gsba ( GameSave B...

Re: Unable to Detect OneDrive

From what I recall, it's a known issue due to Microsoft changing various properties of OneDrive, including it's name (previously SkyDrive). It "broke" the detection of it. Due to it not being a massive issue, it has not been addressed (allowing for more development time for 4.x). A "work around" for...

Re: Life is Strange 2/Sally Face/Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+/Sims 4

Life is Strange 2 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Dontnod\<user-id>\LIS2\Saved\SaveGames\ I'm not familiar with this 'Dontnod' path. As such, GameSave Manager doesn't have a variable for dynamically detecting the 'UserId' value here. Sally Face %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Steve Gabry\Sally Face\ Added, thanks. B...

Re: Uplay location needs to be updated.

How are you testing it?
The "Test" button within the Custom GameSave Entries Wizard has some... issues.

The variable should be parsed correctly when actually scanning your system for supported saves (i.e a system scan).

Re: Uplay location needs to be updated.

The path you specified is already detected. There are actually two Uplay variables, one of which is 'hidden' from the selection. %UPLAY% - The variable the user can select for a Custom GameSave Entry . This variable directs to the AppData\Local\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegame_storage directory. %UPLA...

Re: GameSave Manager v4

Yes, the v4.x branch is still under development.
It's a little stalled right now due to my hatred of--and lack of ability to--create UI designs.

Every now and then, I do post screenshots in the Discord server's #lounge channel.

Re: is v4 more stable than v3 at this current time

Generally speaking, the v4.x branch should backup and restore your data just fine. It hasn't had many issues reported, though I'd assume that is due to a very small user pool for it (most preferring the v3.x branch). There's many unfinished features in the v4.x branch (such as Scheduled Tasks as pre...
