Game time interrupted constantly

Post by Nitnat »

Hi I really appreciate your program. It is an absolute pain to spend hours upon hours with a game (like Dragon Age or Witcher 3) just to have your drive fail and loose all your save files. So your program is a Godsend! Thank you for making it.

Now onto my only gripe:) I have created a schedule so that GSM makes backups of all my files every hour. It consolidates every 3rd backup so the folder doesn't blow up in size. The only issue I have is that GSM pops up an alert every time it finishes the backup task. If this happens while I'm in the middle of a game.... it minimizes my game to taskbar. This happens every hour, and while it isn't the end of the world it sure is inconvenient and a bit annoying. Please tell me there is away to disable it from doing that. Is there a way to have it run just in the background and not alert me every time it finishes the backup task?

Thank you to anyone that can help

GameSave Manager should remain 'silent' unless it detects a problem during the task.
If you're being presented with a prompt, this would be why.

Now if we're talking about GameSave Manager stealing "focus" when it starts; it's a somewhat known issue which has improved a little in recent years.
I'd suggest you try the 4x branch (found on our Discord server), but it hasn't yet gotten 'Scheduled' functionality.

In short, I'm afraid that there isn't too much that can be done I'm afraid. Sorry.

Hi Matt. Thank you for replying and sorry I'm so late to respond. Yes you are correct about the error. The only error GSM pops up with is about Skyrim. I think it has something to do with the Script Extender(a mod/app that is practically needed if you are gonna mod Skyrim). But I'm not sure why it would even try to save files from SE. I can take a screenshot and post it here if it would help. Or I can try to remove SkyrimScriptExtender from the GSM save task schedule to see if the error stops popping up. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

Edit: PS...just to let you know the error pops up at the very end of the task schedule, so no GSM does not interrupt me at startup
